At 12:43 PM, the West Whiteland Fire Company and mutual aid companies were dispatched to the Macy’s in the Exton Square Mall for a reported building fire. Upon arrival, crews found fire above the ceiling in the storage area from an electrical source. Crews waited for PECO and the mall’s electrical contractor to arrive to secure the power to the building, and proceeded to ventilate the store. Thank you to Station 47 (Lionville Fire Company), Station 5 (East Whiteland Fire Company), Station 56 (Goshen Fire Company), Station 46 (Minquas Fire Company No. 2), Station 51 (First West Chester Fire Co., Engine Co. 51), Station 52 (Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester), Station 49 (East Brandywine Fire Company), and Station 87 (Uwchlan Ambulance Corps) for all of the help!
