The men and women of the West Whiteland Fire Company spent thousands of hours every year on training and certifications. We believe that we must practice and master the skills required for this job continiously in order to be effective and efficient.

All of our active members have to fulfill NFPA requirements to become an active firefighter which is equivalent to the training professional firefighters have to undergo. Beyond the basic skills of CPR and AED, First Aid, HAZMAT Awareness, HAZMAT Operations and Structural Burn Sessions most of our members are certified in various other skills or continue training for areas such as: Basic Vehicle Rescue, Trench Rescue, High Angle Rescue, Instructor 1 and 2, Fire Officer, Engine Company Operations, Incident Command Systems, Rapid Intervention, Firefighter Survival, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Pump Operator Driver, Emergency Medical Technician etc. etc.
