On Wednesday morning The West Whiteland Fire Company took part in the Collegium “Mock Crash”. These demonstrations teach young drivers about the possible outcomes of poor decisions while behind the wheel. During the demonstration, Rescue 6 and Engine 6-1 performed a vehicle rescue. The West Whiteland Township Police Department performed a D.U.I. check on the driver, while Uwchlan Ambulance Corps worked to assist the victims of the accident. The Chester County Coroner worked with one victim.
Shortly after, the company was dispatched to assist Minquas Fire Company No. 2 at 101 Plaza Drive. A laptop had caught fire but was quickly extinguished by the staff. A smoke condition had remained and crews ventilated the building so that residents could safely re-enter.
