At 9:55 AM, The West Whiteland Fire Company was dispatched to an auto accident with entrapment in the area of Ship Rd and Stonegate Ct for a tree that had fallen onto an occupied vehicle. One juvenile was removed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately the driver of the vehicle had succumbed to their injuries at the scene. While crews were still on scene, Engine 6-1 handled an automatic fire alarm on Weston Way. We would like to extend our condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family.
Moments after returning to station, at 11:30 AM the company was dispatched to assist The West Chester Fire Department for a structure fire. A primary electrical line had come down on the detached garage subsequently causing a fire in the structure.
Later in the afternoon at 3:00 PM the company was dispatched to the area of Constitution Drive and Woodbank Way for a smoke investigation. Chief 6 arrived on scene to find a large brush fire in the area of the railroad tracks. A power line was struck by a falling tree igniting the fire. Crews cleared shortly after 5:30 PM.
